Who Knows If Life Isn’t Just a Game?

posted on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 @ 6:11 pm

Life is like a game — an (MMO)RPG, more specifically. With all the hardcore solo levelling I’m forced to do almost on a daily basis… Indeed, not without the best weapons, armour and potions…

Weapon of choice: Insecticide (Suicidal) + Electric Fly Swatter Armour: Gloves (Confidence +5) Potions: Coffee (Energy +5) & Hot Chocolate (Energy +8)

… I think I’ve finally levelled up and am one step closer to completing the main mission “Conquering Entomophobia (Surrender Is Not an Option)“.

But of course, there are always all these annoyingly distractive side quests: “Pr0n”, “Guild Wars“, “Wash the Dishes”, “Mop the Floor”, “Do the Laundry”, “University Assignments” — some more fun than the others.

No way! I didn’t just put “University Assignments” under side quests. Priorities, Vickie! Priorities!

Neverwinter Nights 2 will be out soon - and then my life will be turn into a rpg - I even met my husband through that game - so I guess hte borders between real life and the rpg is thinner than first assumed.

Lol , funny. I really like how you you compared things to a game and the pics too. I should be more creative with my blogs like that… I feel like I leave out the excited and interesting things that would keep a “reader” reading my blog..

I just giggled hysterically. I guess every year in your life is one “mission” or “chapter” and then every thing else can be catergorized into a subquest, if only there was level up music in real life…. Seriously, how cool would it be to have abig “You just attained level ____!!!!” suddenly appear next to you and a bunch of trumpets play?!?!?!?

LOL….. University Assignements….definitely shouldn’t go under side quests, but hey, sometimes those life changes such as conquering entomophobia (I’m positive I spelled that wrong) just have to come first. :)

*giggles* Now that’s one way of putting things, I have never thought of. I especially like the “weapon”.

*sighs* I wish I could categorize university as “side quest”, alas being a senior prevents me from doing that.

And like MMORPGs most people in real life are jerks… but those who are your buddies and loved make the game worth playing and life worth living.
